Position Overview
Shoals MPE is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Administrator to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing construction division. This role combines accounting, administrative, and project financial responsibilities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll support, QuickBooks management, and construction-related billing functions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining accurate financial records, collaborating with project managers, and ensuring financial processes are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, collections, payment tracking, and customer account reconciliation
Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor invoices, payment processing, and maintaining accurate vendor records
Assist with payroll processing, timecard review, payroll reporting, and employee record maintenance
Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and financial transactions
Assist with monthly financial reporting and recordkeeping
Support budgeting and financial tracking activities
Required Qualifications
Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience supporting payroll processing and payroll-related administration
Proficiency in QuickBooks
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and reconciliations
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in construction, contracting, or project-based businesses
Familiarity with:
Pay Applications
Progress Billing
Schedule of Values (SOV)
Change Orders
Retainage Tracking
Lien Waivers
Experience working with Project Managers and construction teams
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical contracting environments
Construction billing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or project-based financial experience are encouraged to apply.
